Concentrate on what cannot lie. The evidence - Gil Grissom

I found CSI : Crime Scene Investigation on Channel 5 one quiet Tuesday night when channel surfing. It grabbed my attention from the titles. Ok it was the flashy aspects of the show that caught my eye at first. The interesting camera shots inside the victims and the close ups of the evidence, but the things that held my attention were the characters.
The people like Grissom and Catherine are the characters that I like the best. They are flawed but sure of themselves and willing to take risks. They are insightful and intelligent. I like Catherine because she has managed to better herself, to find the thing that makes her life better. Grissom, well he knows this is who and what he is. He knows he is the best at what he does.
CSI was created by Anthony E Zuiker (a Vegas native) and shows the professional and sometimes the personal lives of the CSI Las Vegas night shift which comprises of Gil Grissom, Catherine Willows, Warrick Brown, Nick Stokes & Sara Sidle.  They are helped with their detective work by Homicide Captain Jim Brass.
While CSI is relatively accurate as far as the science of investigation of crime goes, there is plenty of poetic licence taken.  It takes a longer than a couple of hours for DNA to come back from the labs as most are under funded, understaffed and overloaded.  Plus forensic scientists don't question suspects, they simply analyse the scene. The investigation of the facts are done by the police detectives.
It is still very entertaining and interesting.
